Penutupan apeks pada pengisian saluran akar dengan bahan kalsium oksida lebih baik dibanding kalsium hidroksida

Background: In order to prevent apical leakage that cause the root canal treatment failed, root canal sealers must have a good adaptation to root canal surface. Purpose: The aim of this study is to know apical obturation of root canal treatment using calcium oxide sealers (CaO) and calcium hydroxide sealers (Ca(OH)2). Method: Methylene blue method is used to examinate the apical leakage. Result: Average leakage examination result from calcium oxide is 1,0029mm; calcium hydroxide is 2,5357mm; zinc oxide is 5,7229 mm. Statistic test shows significant difference of apical leakage (p<0,05). Conclusion: Apical obturation of root canal treatment using calcium oxide sealers is better than calcium hydroxide sealers.
